A Day Focused on Creating an Environment that Welcomes and Cares for All People and Encourages Mental Wellness
Dr. Messenger will be hosting a breakout session on “Early Intervention for Childhood Disorders”
Early intervention is the key in treating mental health issues in young children. There can be incredible progress when mental health problems are detected and addressed at a young age. When parents, caregivers, and educators work as allies in the intervention process, many more serious problems can be prevented. Children are very resilient, and equipping them with coping strategies and support can build their resilience and allow them to overcome many challenges. In this break-out, we will explore what early intervention is, why it is necessary and important for children, what indicators to look for in early childhood disorders, what useful interventions to use with children, and where parents and educators can find support.
